Most dealers are upright and honest when selling used cars. They offer limited warranties with them. In the case of luxury end cars a lot of them still have warranties in effect when you purchase them.

If you are buying from a private seller ask to see service records. Go online and order a carfax car history report. Find out if the car will be sold "as is" or already state inspected. When you are serious about a used car make sure that you have time to take the car to your mechanic for him to give the car the once over, especially if it's being sold "as is". You don't need to find out after the fact that it needs many more repairs than you thought. You can't tell just by a visual inspection.

The cosmetics of the car are an important factor in determining it's value. Cars are generally rated as being in good, fair or excellent condition. However, especially when purchasing from a private seller you'll find that these ratings vary, sometimes greatly.

Whatever you do, don't let anyone pressure you into making a quick decision, especially a private seller. If you hear something like "I already have someone else who's willing to give me a down payment" let the car go. Stick to your guns, and your budget. If you don't get this car it wasn't meant to be and there will always be another, and better one.

Car Thieves at Dealerships

It seems the effects of these trying economic times know no bounds. People are resorting to even more illegal activities and theft is on the rise. In particular, car theft seems to be the most attractive for the desperate because of its street value.

Most car thieves used the old fashion techniques like jimmying the lock or using a crowbar. Lately, many car dealerships are dealing with car theft right under their own noses. It seems many of these thefts are inside jobs. Vast majorities of other car dealerships with less than adequate security are becoming more hip to the times and have beefed up security measures to protect against theft form the outside.

It was reported that a western Nebraska, Scottsbluff to be exact, the Legacy Ford Lincoln Mercury Toyota car dealership lost dozens of new cars in early March of this year. The cars were later found at auto auctions in Utah and Arizona. The culprits? Well it wasn't the usual suspects. It was the executives working inside the car dealership - the dealership owner Allen Patch, the general manager Rick Covello and the controller Rachel Fait. They cleared out their offices and left town with 81 Ford and Toyota vehicles!

This was not your ordinary heist. These vehicles were vanishing by the truckload! It rather reminds you of the Fast and the Furious movie with Vin Diesel and his crew high jacking fast cars while driving in even faster cars on the highway at high speed. Of course, that's Hollywood and the guilty here were more low - keyed and under the radar and arranged it from behind an office desk. This was a true insider operation and a car theft story with TV or movie potential. How about that ol' Nicholas Cage auto theft film - Gone in Sixty Seconds? The total cost of the merchandise stolen was over $2 million! It's no wonder the car dealer executives disappeared all of a sudden after the heist occurred.

Though many of these cars were sold, they were eventually caught in Utah at an auto auction. When you're trusted with very expensive inventory, and desperation takes over, stories such as this become the reality. This car dealership was obviously going through some financial troubles just like most businesses in the country.

Just a couple of weeks ago, there was a car theft at a successful cash for car business in Long Island, NY. The car thief was daring and managed to steal car keys to a Mercedes on the car lot. The thief managed to sneak in and out with the key and drive off the lot with the Mercedes.

Thanks to sophisticated video surveillance placed strategically in key areas, the key theft was caught on tape! The dealership immediately had the video aired on the Channel 12 News that evening as well as the following morning. They received an anonymous phone call from an individual stating the exact same car was parked in the nearby area. Seeing himself on the Channel 12 News must've made him think twice about keeping it.

Suffice to say, the dealership was able to recover the stolen vehicle back to their lot. The owner immediately added more upgrades to the dealership's security to the point where it is more airtight than ever before. Considering the shape the economy is in, they're doing rather well in these times and the owner obviously intends to keep it that way.

Toyota Introduces Solar Power To Electric Vehicles

Toyota is developing electric cars which can utilize solar panels for power. This is the first time that Toyota is using solar energy, a great renewable source of energy to charge electric batteries in hybrid cars.

Solar panels are being mounted on each end of new Toyota electric cars to draw renewable energy from the sun. This is not the first time solar energy has been introduced as a source of energy to power automobiles. It is possible to create a solar powered vehicle but there are trade-offs when it comes to speed. As far as using it for powering electric batteries found in hybrid vehicles there is considerable concern as to whether or not the sun will be able to provide enough power to charge the battery.

Solar powered methods have been used for powering outdoor lamps. These lamps collect energy from the sun during the day and then can be used at night. That type of simple and efficient energy transfer for hybrid type vehicles still needs more development and improvement.

It would seem, however, that Toyota may have found a means to effectively recharge hybrid batteries. Though Toyota has made no comment regarding this prototype, it is conceivable that solar energy could be harvested through panels and may possess enough energy to power dashboards systems, headlights, windshield wipers and even the vehicles radio. Other more energy utilizing systems may require much more power than panels can provide. If Toyota has found a way around this we'll know soon enough.

I am missing this version in 1:18 I'm really glad to have them in 1:43rd. Vitesse also released the Evolution IX in red and I'm still on the fence about getting it. the 2010 Honda Insight does manage to march to a slightly different
drummer. It�s smaller than the Prius, for instance, which isn�t
necessarily a plus, as interior room suffers. But it�s lighter, which
is a plus, as less weight contributes to it�s being a somewhat livelier
driver.

Beyond this, it generally stays the course, with the common array of
standard features plus an optional navigation system and Bluetooth
capability. It also can be ordered with gimmicky paddle shifters that
imposes an artificial construct of seven electronically created ratios

The next generation FR-L platform has been engineered to deliver a fun and exhilarating driving experience without having to compromise on a smooth and comfortable ride. In the development of the new Skyline, Nissan�s engineers focused on three key areas � accommodating increased engine power, superior balance of driving performance and comfort, as well as safety and environmental friendliness.

The Skyline is powered by the newly developed VQ35HR and VQ25HR V6 engines. The 3.5L version generates 315 horsepowers and 36.5kgm of torque and is capable of revving up to 7500rpm, while the 2.5L generates 225 horsepowers and 26.8 kgm of torque. The powerplant is matched to a five-speed automatic transmission with adaptive shift control, allowing the driver to be in full control of the power generated by the new engine. Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 N1 : World Challenge Car For Sale

The car was originally raced in the Japanese Super Taikyu series, built by NISMO. Only about 12 were built, and who knows how many remain. However, the spec in the Super Taikyu series was rather low for World Challenge GT, so in 2005 we proceeded to upgrade the GT-R. All bodywork was changed to carbon/fiberglass to lose weight, the transmission changed to a Holinger 6-speed sequential, a triple plate carbon clutch was custom-made by Tilton to ensure successful standing-start launches. All windows were changed to Lexan. In all, we were able to trim the weight of the GT-R down to under 3050 lbs dry - over 200 lbs shaved off the Super Taikyu-spec. Note that this is a weight that an R35 GT-R could never be in an AWD trim.

To run the 305-width rubber on the car, Rays Engineering/Mackin Industries were kind enough to custom make light-weight 18x11J width Volk TE37s in Japan specifically for this project.

In 2005 testing, we quickly learned that the stresses applied to the car on 305/35/18 Toyo Proxes RA1 tires were severely more than the Super Taikyu-spec 250-width slicks, prompting us to find solutions to hub/bearing failures. Mr. Tetsuo Suzuki, the crew chief of the Nurburgring 24-hr Falken GT-R team was introduced to us by NISMO to help us find solutions. The Nur GT-R also had similar problems as it used 290-width slicks, so we followed their suit and upgraded the hubs to those used on the Nissan Cima luxury vehicle.

To comply with World Challgne GT safety regulations, we installed a custom NASCAR-style cage in addition to the FIA-certified cage that was in place from the car's time in Japan.

There�s a new show coming to the Discovery Chanel called Weaponizers. Brought to you by the same people who brought you Mythbusters, this show centers around weaponizing and remote controlling cars. They�ll be building them with several different types of competition in mind, including defense of an object and all out warfare. You�ll note in the press release that they keep mentioning their special effects backgrounds. Judging by the picture above, we should expect to see them shooting lots of fireworks, maybe some flame throwers thrown in. Generally, we think we�ll see lots of flashy stuff that really isn�t effective at destroying an unmanned car. They do mention live ammunition, so maybe they�ll actually try to make these things able to harm each other. Let�s hope they don�t let us down.

Nissan and Seattle partner up for electric cars

You know the drill: Renault-Nissan makes an announcement about a new partnership to build an electric vehicle charging infrastructure and says it will begin testing their EVs in that location. Today's spot on the map? Seattle. The city's green energy-friendly Mayor, Greg Nickels, said in a statement that, "Electric-powered transportation is particularly attractive in a city with a carbon-neutral utility, generating clean electricity through hydropower."

The specific plan for Seattle is to figure out where to place the electric vehicle charging stations and to figure out how to operate and maintain the charging network. Yes, Nissan EVs will begin testing in Seattle at some point in the future. Nissan has repeatedly said it will introduce electric vehicles to the U.S. in 2010. Some of the specific locations where Renault-Nissan is working to bring EVs to the masses include Arizona (Phoenix and Tucson), California, Monaco, China, Ireland, Z�rich, and Tennessee, among many others.

Following up on EPA administrator Lisa Jackson�s statement that �what this country needs is a one single national road map that tells automakers who are trying to become solvent again what kind of car it is they need to be designing and building for the American people,� the Washington Post�s Charles Lane reports on the practicality of one of the Obama administration�s preferred models, the electric car:

Though Obama promised to have 1 million plug-in hybrids on the road by 2015, the dream of a mass-market electric car remains implausible and probably will be for years.

Perlu kita ingat kembali kesalahan SUZUKI mengganti SUZUKI SHOGUN 110 menjadi SUZUKI SHOGUN 125, padahal pada waktu itu SHOGUN 110 sedang laris � larisnya dan di kota Jember, SUZUKI JEMBER mencapai THE BEST MARKET SHARE gara �gara SHOGUN 110. Nah sekarang khan SUZUKI THUNDER 125 lagi laris bagaikan kacang garing. Karena pasar / kelas sport 125 di tinggalkan oleh H****,oleh sebab itu kemunkinan besar ATPM SUZUKI enggan mengganti tehnologi THUNDER 125 dengan tehnologi baru.

Kemungkinan kedua, ATPM SUZUKI berkaca pada penjualan Y***** V****N yang kurang sukses di pasaran. Padahal kami pernah mendengar SUZUKI akan mengganti SUZUKI THUNDER 125 menjadi 150cc dan memakai injeksi bahan bakar.Kemungkinan besar rencananya akan di hadapkan HEAD TO HEAD dengan Y***** V****N. Tapi entah bagaimana kelanjutannya kami kurang jelas. Jadi ATPM SUZUKI mungkin merasa rugi apabila SUZUKI THUNDER 125 di gantikan dengan varian baru.

Tapi sekarang SUZUKI satu langkah lebih maju daripada ATPM lain pada tipe Matic, dengan diluncurkannya SUZUKI SKYDRIVE 125 adalah terobosan yang paling mengena pada saat masyarakat Indonesia yang lagi tergila � gila dengan Motor Matic. Di tambah lagi Motor Matic SUZUKI pilihan variannya lebih banyak dari ATPM motor jepang yang lain.
